Refrigerant Emissions Reduction
Mass Save now offers incentives for refrigerant leak repair and swap out. Join us in this webinar to learn more about refrigerants, their environmental impact, and emissions reduction opportunities in commercial/industrial facilities.
Agenda:
1. Refrigerant Basics
— What are refrigerants?
— Where and why are they used?
— Refrigerant impacts
— Foundational history & past transitions
2. Commercial Refrigeration & Emissions
— Refrigerant leaks
— Refrigerant retrofits
3. Emissions Reduction Opportunities & How to Identify Them
4. Mass Save Incentives (speaker from Eversource)
5. Q&A
The slides and a recording will be available to those who register.
Continuing education units (CEUs) will be available through UMass for those who attend the live sessions. They are offered at no cost for Massachusetts utility customers, Massachusetts energy professionals, businesses affiliated with Mass Save, and employees of the Sponsors of Mass Save. Others may choose to apply and pay for CEUs.
Instructor: Melissa Stewart, VEIC – Melissa specializes in the implementation and analysis of energy efficiency and building decarbonization measures. A key member of the Industrial Process Technology Solutions Group, she leads research and development on the use of industrial-scale heat pumps, high temperature heat pump modelling, heat recovery, and potential greenhouse gas savings in the industrial refrigeration sector. She is an expert in natural and low-GWP refrigerants and has consulted on ASHRAE refrigerant code standards for R32 technology and provided recommendations on the general applicability of R32 and natural refrigerant technology for systems in Vermont.
